Ketchikan from Inman hill, winter, 1902 Thomas Basin tidal flats at low tide. Scene includes Saw Mill, downtown and Stedman Street to Inman Street. Snow on ground and some roofs. Walk to FIP built in 1902 is visible, and Main Street School, later Holy Name Church is present, but St. John's Episcopal Church not visible, it was dedicated 3/30/1903. The Spruce tree at the foot of Front Street is still in evidence. Note: similar view is 62.4.2.17, with more of the Ketchikan Power Company visible. |
