Coloring book, "Ketchikan by the Sea," illustrated by Capt. Kelsey McNeil, 2022. Features copies of original artwork by Kelsey McNeil. Consists of 22 coloring pages, each with a unique design. The designs are things visitors would see around Ketchikan and during a boat tour with Lighthouse Excursions, which runs from Ward Cove to Guard Island and back. A biographical note about the illustrator is on the back cover. Kelsey McNeil is the fourth generation of her family to be born and raised in Ketchikan. In the summers she pilots tour vessels for Lighthouse Excursions. She also designed their company logo. Lighthouse Excursions is a locally owned and operated tour company by husband and wife team Jeff Karlson and Rebekka Esbjornson. The business solicited the coloring book in 2020 as a way to keep their staff employed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The coloring books were printed by North Creative Design. The coloring books were made available in 2022 on vessels and in their gift shop. |
