Description |
Ketchikan Flying Club Inc. brochure, circa 1962- 1964. Robert (Bob) Adams helped found and was an instructor for the Ketchikan Flying Club. The club was for hobby pilots and according to its brochure, "The Ketchikan Flying Club, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation operating under a State charter, organized for the purpose of owning and operating aircraft for the use and pleasure of its members and their families." Member benefits also included flight instruction and the ability to borrow one of the two club's planes for short trips, hunting, fishing, or flightseeing opportunities. The two planes available were a 85 horsepower Taylorcraft BC-12D for 2 people and a 145 horsepower Cessna 172 for 4 people. The club started in June 1962 and ran until the summer of 1964. |
