Description |
Dammit the Donkey at The Thomas Basin Rooms, December 20, 1951 As a surprise, some prankster left the donkey in his friend's 2nd floor digs at the Thomas Basin Rooms. That was easy. Not so easy was getting Dammit back down the stairs. That part was left to Tuck Zaruba, left; Jack Seabolt, building owner, center; and an unidentified man. According to June Allen, they did it by putting the reluctant animal on a mattress and "sledding" him down. Herb Schaub, Tuck Zaruba, Jackson Seabolt, were always playing jokes on each other. I Just happened to be walking down Stedman Street when this was taken. They were taking Dammit out of an upper floor apartment of the Thomas Basin rooms after Herb had hid Dammit in one of the apartments… |
