View up Main Street, from the Ketchikan Power Company lumber storage yard, circa 1915 The large building in the foreground, on the left-hand side of Main Street, is The Rink - skating rink, movie house, and venue for boxing matches and other sports events. Beyond The Rink, topped by a tall hose-drying tower, is the fire hall. Built in 1904, it served the community until the current downtown fire station was built in 1943. |
