Gasboat Walrus steaming just past Ketchikan S. S. Co., and Coal dock. In the Ryus float area. The Walrus has a tall mast and is flying the U.S. flag. Also visible are the Emerald Saloon and Bowling Alley, Nob Hill, and the Newtown area. Newspaper article: The Mining Journal, September 8, 1906, Vol. 6 No. 36 "Gas Launch Walrus burns at 1:30 a.m. as it was approaching Gravina. Two Children perish." |
