Salmon Derby Awards, 1955 Kit Wood Ketchikan Daily News article, 6/11/1955 page 1 "Three top winners (above) of the Ketchikan King Salmon Sweepstakes derby have reason to smile after being awarded $2750 last night. Kit Wood (left) received top prize money of $1500, C. M. Archbold $750 and George Placentia $500. The first 60-pound pin awarded to a woman was also won by Mrs. Wood, with Archbold and Placentia receiving 50-pound pins. The three winners also received trophy cups donated by the Alaska Steamship Company." |
