Ketchikan waterfront as seen from Pennock Island, circa 1902 A view of Ketchikan waterfront from Pennock centering on the Steam ship dock. Main street has yet of be completed, and the area on courthouse hill has yet to be built up. St John's can be seen. The Customs Building from Mary Island has been relocated to town, and the building that would later become the present day Pioneer Hall can be seen just behind the lone sailboat in the channel. Note from old finding aid: A 1902 view of "central town. The Methodist Church, 1st Customs House and 1st school can be seen left of center, and St. Agnes Mission far right. Neither the Revilla nor the Stedman Hotels had been built. |
