Description |
Three men preparing to brail a floating fish trap / inspecting the webbing of a floating fish trap In 1933, Elliot Fisher produced a series of photographs depicting every stage of the salmon packing process, from activities on a fish trap to loading cases of canned salmon aboard a freighter for shipment. He displayed the photos in the window of his Front Street camera shop, under the legend, "F-I-S-H spells prosperity." Some time after Fisher left Ketchikan in 1934, Alfred Milotte, who had purchased Fisher Sudio, reproduced the photos as postcards, which he sold as a set. |
