Bruce Johnstone, January 1953 The image was captured in the Ketchikan Daily News office. Ketchikan Daily News article, 2/7/1953 "Plane to Be Used In Selecting Hunting Grounds Among many Alaskans with a colorful background is Bruce Johnstone of Ketchikan Alaska guide, logger and plane operator. He recently returned from the deep south where he was invited to a turkey hunt by a millionaire sportsman. He has guided the sportsman and his family on a successful hunt and cruise of Soixtheastern Alaska last summer. The sportsman was greatly interested in Alaska and promises to return. Mr. Johnstone, born in Ketchikan, has a wife and four children. He operates a small logging outfit. The Luscombe plane he bought he intends to use for rescue work and "spotting out" the best hunting grounds for future parties he will guide." |
