Navy Flyers from the search for Paddy Burke, November 1930 Personnel of Navy flyers search for Pat Renshan. Left to right: 2nd Pilot I.P. Moragne, Radioman L. E. Gesell, Lieutenant-in-command C. F. Greber, Chief Radio Electrician Claude Alexander (pilot), 2nd Pilot S. T. Pigott, and Radioman R. F. Scott. Don Dawson Notes US Naval flyers in Ketchikan with two USN amphibians (Loening 0L8-As) in from San Diego to join in the search for missing aviator E.J.A. "Paddy" Burke and companions lost in British Columbia and Alaska-Washington Airways' Vega "Skagway" & its' pilot Robin "Pat" Renehan, mechanic-Frank Hatcher and passenger Sam Clerf who all disappeared flying to Ketchikan from Seattle to join in the search for Burke. Arrived in Ketchikan from Alert Bay, B.C. on Sunday November 23, 1930. The six men were (not certain of proper order of id's -check front page of 11/28/30 Juneau Alaska Empire photo with names): Pilot L.P. Moragne, Radioman L. E. Geselel, Lt. Charles P. Gerber in command, Radio Electrician Claude Alexander, Radioman R. L. Scott and Pilot S. T. Pigott. Navy radio tender SWALLOW acted as mother ship for the planes, which returned with the ship to Seattle Saturday, December 6, 1930 after search for Renehan proved fruitless. Renehan plane was missing October 28, 1930.
