Tongass Trading Company and the Dream Theater are visible on the left side of the image (note: other businesses can likely be identified with further research). The photographer's initials are on the lower left side on the pant leg of a man walking. A caption at the lower right corner reads, "Celebrating Ketchikan Alaska." Postcard mailed to Mrs. Sarah Grant in Hydaburg, postmarked from Ketchikan 07/27/1925. The message to her reads, "Dear Sarah: I hope you are not sick. Amy said the last time I seen her she hasn't heard from afon (?spelling?). We are still the same. Guyas (?spelling?) will be here next month. Best wishes. Lizzie." |
