Christmas Party at Teen Town, December 20, 1953 Teen Town, a youth activity center, operated for several years at East and Stedman Streets. Boy kneeling, wearing white tee-shirt, with hand raised by mouth, identified as Mike Salazar. Boy sitting, wearing checkered shirt, identified as Bob Almquist. Boy sitting, with one arm raised upwards holding box, identified as Al Feller. Ketchikan Daily News photo caption (see 2003.2.63.708), 12/21/1953 "Teen Town Has First Christmas Party The Hobby Club of Teen Town had its first Christmas party yesterday. Each youngster attending received a gift, soft drinks, and a bad of treats. The party was made possible through donations from the Moose Lodge, Alaska Bottling Works, Eddystone Electric Company, Ben Franklin Store, Lloyd's Men's Shop, Yukon Bar and Alaska Sportsman. Robert Goulart, assisted by Ed Jowell, is in charge of the Hobby Club." |
