Diving from the platform during the Eagles Picnic at Ward Lake, June 21, 1953 Ketchikan Daily News, 6/22/1953 "Eagles Picnic Successful LaVelle Sears, president of the Eagles lodge, reported today that the annual picnic, which was held yesterday at Ward lake recreation area, was a great success, with about 1500 adults and children attending. One hundred pounds of hot dogs were given to the children, besides large quantities of ice cream and pop. Relay races, baseball games, tug-o-war, and other sports events were held, with prizes for the winners." |
