Home insulation crew unloading the plane in Ketchikan, 1953 Ketchikan Daily News, Wednesday, March 4, 1953 (photo caption) Home Insulation Service Under Way With the recent arrival of Northwest Home Service company personnel and equipment, insulation of home and other building in Ketchikan is underway. The experienced crew of three with equipment and supplies arrived from Juneau by a chartered Alaska Coastal Airways PBY plane which was completely loaded. This is the first time that crews and equipment have been flown from city to city in Alaska for this type of work. The above photo shows Jim Conter (right) manager; Dennis Austin, and Jim Kinett unloading fiberglass-blowing wool used in the insulation. |
