Pen and ink drawing, "Feeding the World" by Ray Troll, 1996 and 2008. The drawing consists of pen and ink, colored pencil, and watercolor on board. The drawing depicts three fishing boats (Cognito, True Blue, Ronquil) and an active underwater scene of salmon and bottom fish. Dark wood frame. |
Provenance |
Purchased with the assistance of an Art Acquisition Fund grant with funds from the Rasmuson Foundation. The artwork was created in 1996 as a pen-and-ink drawing for sale in the artist's gallery, Soho Coho. A Ketchikan seafood processor purchased the right to use the artwork on promotional materials. In 2008, the artist applied color to the drawing, using colored pencil and watercolor. The work was shown as part of an exhibit at the Seattle Aquarium entitled, "The Fin Art of Ray Troll: Be Careful What You Fish For." Framed at the Exploration Gallery. |
