Description |
Stone Tool: Double Pointed Blade Ovoid-shape hand-chipped, thin stone blade, grey-green color, lucent quality. On 04/03/2018, Hayley Chambers contacted U.S. Forest Service Archaeologist, Martin V. Stanford, for help with identification. On 04/04/2018, Martin wrote in an email, "The two Chipped Stone Tools; ... The 'double point stone blade' is Chipped Stone Bipoint that may be a knife or a projectile point. I can't tell from the photo but if you look at one end vs the other you might be able to tell if one end is sharper than the other end. If that is the case then it's a knife or a projectile point and the dull end was hafted to be [sic] some kind of handle or spear shaft. I have seen similar tools from southeast Alaska but I have also seen similar tools from elsewhere too." |
