Provenance |
About five years ago, the donor tore down an old building on Pennock Island and saved two shingles- this one and 2017.2.63.2- from the south and east sides. The building was built in the 1920s and originally may have been a troller's cabin with attached boathouse. When it was torn down, the building was being used as a net shed. The donor loaned three photos showing this building and its location on Pennock. The photos are associated with this donation RC 2017.0.24.1-3. The donor said the shingle was discovered with the stamp facing down. He turned the nail around the hang the shingle with the stamp visible in his home. During condition reporting on 01/31/2018, the nail was removed and bagged separately from the shingle. |
