Propeller from an Aeromarine 40 Flying Boat This wood brass and steel Curtiss propeller was donated by the Northern Machine Works. Ed Meader, a retired foreman from the Northern Machine works, recalled that this propeller was being used as an inefficient ceiling fan when he went to work for the company in the late 1920's, and that it had to do with some chap named Merrill, that an Anchorage airport was named after. Marked on the front side of propeller, which faces the wall are: CEC 1 And on the back side acing out Right side Left Side Curtiss Propeller DARAWING #8560 #190- L-H D80- P-48 Century - 20 |
