Provenance |
Ruth Kubley Hewitt worked at her father, Henry Kubley's store that was later run by Ruth's brother Lawrence Kubley. Ruth collected these items as examples of store inventory. At the time of the donation, Blossom indicated her mother would trade / buy native made goods locally in Ketchikan, Metlakatla, Saxman, Hydaburg, and Kasaan. Frequently she would trade for goods. Blossom said her mother's crocheted blankets were very popular with the Native artists she was trading with. |
