Diving apparatus / dive pump, circa 1906-1909 Manufactured by A. J. Morse & Son Two flywheels, two handles, and two nuts are removable Serial number 1015, model #1 two cylinder pump |
Provenance |
2020 Notes from DESCO Corp. who bought out the assets of Morse Diving: "Yours is a model #1 two cylinder pump. It was capable of supplying two divers in shallow water or one diver in deep water. Attached [see attached multimedia files] are scan of pages for the #1 Air Pump. From the photos your pump looks in good condition. The only part I can see that is missing is the door for the outlets at the front bottom. One item we found very interesting is the "Repaired by A Schrader's Son" tag on the pump. Even as competitors Morse and Schrader had a good working relationship as far as we can tell. Schrader even sold new Morse pumps with Schrader badging." See email in accession file. |
