Description |
Twined cedar bark with lid. Basket woven in "close-together-work " the lid has 2 rows of "between" weave where the grass is added. Central design in false embroidery in gold grass (faded from green) spells "Alaska" and is followed by a "lozenge" pattern. This is flanked by 2 bands of 2 rows each in "strawberry" weave of (faded green) gold. Both borders have warps twined to the outside. Lid to basket 74.1.6.6 a. Twined cedar bark lid in close together work. The lid has 2 rows of between weave where the grass is added. Two rows of false embroidery of gold grass. Hole in lid. Sunk in middle. 20th century |
